The L'Aldea City Council has launched the municipality's first electric vehicle charger, situated in the Plaça del Dr. Maimó. This initiative aims to improve services for residents and visitors who use electric vehicles.
The charging point boasts a power output of up to 50 kW, providing both fast and normal charging options, and can charge two vehicles simultaneously, thereby reducing user waiting times.
Mayor Xavier Royo highlighted that this project is part of the City Council's strategy to make L'Aldea a more sustainable municipality, complementing the existing cycle path network, green spaces, and the photovoltaic plant at the pavilion.
Royo announced that two additional charging points will be installed soon, one at the City Council premises and another at the Plaça de l'Estació, further expanding the municipal charging network.
This project is part of the Smart Rural Ebreterritori – Electromobilitat initiative, driven by COPATE with Nuclear Transition Funds. The charging point at Plaça de l'Estació also receives funding from the Ministry for Ecological Transition under the MOVES III 2025 program and the IMPULS DIPTA Plan.
