L'Aldea has achieved its third Flower of Honor from Viles Florides, an award that recognizes the municipality's trajectory in enhancing green spaces and urban landscaping.

The municipality of L’Aldea has been awarded its third Flower of Honor from Viles Florides, an accolade that consolidates its dedication to improving green spaces and urban landscaping. This distinction marks a further step forward in the municipality's journey within this movement.
The official presentation of the award took place last Friday, October 2nd, in Reus, during the 15th Gala of the Flowers of Honor of Viles Florides. This event brought together representatives from municipalities across Catalonia and Andorra to celebrate and acknowledge efforts in promoting urban greenery.
With this new distinction, L’Aldea moves from two to three Flowers of Honor. The municipality first received two flowers in 2022 and has since revalidated them in subsequent editions, having been part of the Viles Florides movement since 2021.
Viles Florides is an initiative by the Confederació d’Horticultura Ornamental de Catalunya (CHOC) that aims to transform towns and cities through urban green and landscaped spaces, promoting quality of life, sustainability, and citizen involvement.
“

"This third flower is recognition for work that is done throughout the year. We are very happy to have achieved this third Flower of Honor. When L’Aldea joined Viles Florides in 2021, the objective was to improve year after year and demonstrate that consistent work eventually yields results. Moving from two to three flowers is a recognition of this trajectory."

Councilor for Green Spaces · Pepe Caballé
Pepe Caballé, Councilor for Green Spaces, highlighted that the third Flower of Honor acknowledges the continuous work in maintaining and improving the municipality's public spaces. "This flower is not just recognition for the City Council. It is also recognition for all the people who work in maintaining the green spaces and, ultimately, for all the residents who contribute to caring for our town," he stated.
Caballé believes that the third Flower of Honor should serve as an incentive to continue progressing in incorporating greenery into streets and squares, enhancing existing spaces, and making L’Aldea an increasingly well-kept, pleasant, and sustainable town.
The City Council emphasizes that the commitment to urban green goes beyond mere ornamentation, contributing to improved public spaces, enhanced quality of life for citizens, and a strengthened commitment to sustainability.
