The actions, which involved an investment of over €33,000, were entirely subsidized by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Diputació de Tarragona, and the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory. The heavy rainfall recorded, with 145.7 mm accumulated at the L'Aldea meteorological station, caused erosion of the banks, undermining of slopes, and deterioration of the crossings.
In the Pixadors ravine, protection breakwaters have been constructed with subsequent reinforcement and concreting to consolidate the crossings and prevent future damage. In the Mas Roig ravine, structural reinforcement of the slope will be carried out using breakwaters, rebar, and reinforced concrete to improve stability and protection against future floods.
The mayor, Xavier Royo, highlighted that these works are part of climate change mitigation efforts and that, additionally, the Catalan Water Agency is now cleaning the rest of the Pixadors ravine, improving conditions against potential floods.
The works, executed by CANAL DELTA, SL, had a final cost of €33,390.07. Funding came from the Generalitat (€6,849.60), the Diputació de Tarragona (€21,477.94), and the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory (€5,062.53).
In parallel, the Catalan Water Agency (ACA) is carrying out ravine cleaning works as it passes through the urban center and inhabited areas, complementing municipal actions to reduce risks from intense rainfall.
