The Government of the Generalitat and representatives of the bullfighting festivals in Terres de l'Ebre officially established a Working Group this Tuesday to coordinate safety and animal health issues.

The creation of this dialogue and coordination body responds to an express request from the Catalan bullfighting sector, which received the approval of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food, Òscar Ordeig. The main objective is to establish a stable space to jointly analyze the problems that may arise in the celebration of these traditional events.
The Working Group seeks to comprehensively address issues related to participant safety, animal health, and the general organization of bull festivals held throughout the Terres de l'Ebre territory.
The body is composed of broad institutional and sectoral representation. On behalf of the Government, officials from the areas of Agriculture, Livestock, Culture, and Interior participate. Municipal representation includes the mayors of l'Aldea, Ulldecona, Paüls, and Deltebre.
Members of the Association of Bullfighting Clubs and Commissions of the Terres de l'Ebre, as well as representatives of the livestock farms Mansilla and Príncep, are also part of the Mesa. In the first meeting, participants analyzed the situation of Contagious Nodular Dermatosis and the sanitary measures to be applied.
The members have committed to ensuring the continuity of this working space with periodic meetings. The next meeting is scheduled in approximately one month, coinciding with the start of the peak season for bullfighting celebrations.
