The presentation of the 81st edition of the competition took place last Wednesday, December 17, in Mónaco, with the participation of authorities such as the president of the Provincial Tourism Board, Enric Adell. This will be the first time in history that a Vuelta stage is held completely within the Tarragona demarcation.
The 171-kilometer route will start in Falset and finish in Roquetes (Baix Ebre). The route, designed to showcase the territory, will pass through municipalities such as Marçà, Móra la Nova, Ginestar, Rasquera, l’Ampolla, Deltebre, Amposta, Tortosa, and Xerta, displaying the area's landscape diversity and tourist attractions.
“"our destinations will be, this 2026, the setting for three of the main events on the international cycling calendar: the Vuelta, the Tour de France, and the Volta a Catalunya. To these events, we must also add the Clàssica Terres de l’Ebre."
This stage is part of an exceptional year for cycling in the region. In 2026, Tarragona will host four major cycling events: the second stage of the Tour de France, this Vuelta stage, a day of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, and the III Clàssica Terres de l’Ebre. The Tourism Board works to leverage these events as an opportunity for tourism promotion.
