The Port Authority leveraged its participation in Fruit Attraction, held in Madrid from October 6th to 8th, to showcase to horticultural sector professionals the new infrastructures and services that will expand the port's logistics offerings. These projects complement the activities of the Fruport terminal, specialized in refrigerated fruit.
During the fair, port representatives held meetings with importers and exporters from the Lleida region, Aragon, South America, and North Africa. They also explored collaborations with road transport and logistics companies interested in future port developments.
One of the main projects presented is the future multipurpose terminal at the Muelle de Andalucía. This new facility will enable expanded cargo handling and boost containerized fruit traffic, integrating into the existing logistics offer and complementing current services.
The commercial promotion also highlighted the railway terminals of La Boella, within the port precinct, and the future terminal in Guadalajara-Marchamalo. These infrastructures are key to the strategy of improving Tarragona's connection with the peninsular center, facilitating market access and integrating maritime and rail transport into logistics chains.
The port's current offering already includes the Fruport terminal, which handles goods requiring cold chain maintenance, such as tropical fruit destined for European markets. The combination of existing services with future multipurpose and railway infrastructures will enhance Tarragona's capacity to serve operators in the horticultural sector.
