The Doctor Ferran Foundation and the Muiño Family have formalized an agreement to create a 12,000 euro grant aimed at care innovation in the Pediatrics Service of the Hospital Universitari de Tortosa Verge de la Cinta (HUTVC).

A primary objective of this initiative is to strengthen the hospital's capacity to handle complex cases, thereby reducing the need to transfer pediatric patients to other centers, such as those in Barcelona. This will allow local families to access high-complexity care without having to leave the region.
This grant will enable professionals from the HUTVC's Pediatrics Service to expand their experience in leading hospital centers. The acquired knowledge will subsequently be applied to the center's care activities, enhancing the quality of service.
The project has a funding of 12,000 euros, to be distributed between 2026 and 2028. These resources will fully cover the costs of training, including travel, accommodation, registration fees, and necessary materials for the stays.
Upon completion of the training, the beneficiary professionals must apply the acquired knowledge within a maximum of six months, either by introducing new protocols or implementing innovative techniques within the service. The Doctor Ferran Foundation will manage the donation, overseeing the program's development and ensuring its impact within the local healthcare system.

"It is essential to promote equal access to healthcare and strengthen local health resources, considering continuous training as a key element to ensure quality care in pediatrics."
