The Territorial Commission of Cultural Heritage of the Terres de l’Ebre approved the adaptation of the expansion project for the Tortosa Verge de la Cinta University Hospital last Wednesday, December 10, greenlighting the resumption of construction works.

The Government of the Generalitat confirmed this week that the Heritage body has validated the new design, a crucial step for improving healthcare infrastructure in the capital of Baix Ebre. This decision ends a period of uncertainty regarding the project's continuity.

This approval is the result of insistent and meticulous work carried out by the Government of the Generalitat.

The so-called "white smoke" emerged from the meeting of the Territorial Heritage Commission, which gave its approval to the project adaptation. This adaptation will allow the resumption of expansion works, which are considered essential for modernizing the current hospital center in Tortosa.
This progress occurs while the debate over the construction of a new hospital continues, but the Government has assured that the resumption of these expansion works will not slow down the long-term plans for the new healthcare infrastructure in the area.
