The signing ceremony was attended by the president of the Tortosa Chamber of Commerce, Francesc Faiges, and doctor Carlos López, research coordinator at the Hospital Universitari de Tortosa Verge de la Cinta and Project Emma. This donation will directly contribute to acquiring laboratory materials, genetic analysis of patient samples, and hiring research and technical personnel.

Dr. López recalled that Project Emma began in 2020 and has since surpassed €350,000 in private donations. He also stressed the importance of retaining young researchers in the Terres de l’Ebre, noting that the extra support will allow for expanding planned genetic studies and reinforcing training through European courses and conferences.

President Francesc Faiges highlighted the region's solidarity with biomedical research, stating that collaborating with the project is a way to help thousands of women, not only locally but worldwide, and to give visibility to the initiative among the Ebro business community.
