The towns of Palafrugell and Bellcaire d’Empordà served as the regional hosts for the Run4Cancer 2026, which took place simultaneously across 13 municipalities in Girona. A total of 851 people from Baix Empordà participated in the solidarity walk or run, demonstrating a strong commitment to the cause.

Palafrugell recorded 456 participants, while Bellcaire d’Empordà gathered 395 registered individuals, establishing itself as one of the most involved locations in the entire region. This 12th edition, although non-competitive, attracted both regular runners and families who chose the 5 or 10-kilometer routes.

The president of the Fundació Oncolliga Girona, Paqui Badosa, emphasized that every registration directly contributes to maintaining the free services the entity offers to oncology patients and their families. The success of the event was attributed to the logistical support from local Oncolliga delegations, town councils, and local entities.
