The Generalitat Firefighters found the vehicle around 8:30 PM on Tuesday in an area that was difficult to access. However, recovery efforts had to be postponed until the volume of the Riera Nova stream, greatly swollen by intense rainfall, decreased.

Although the body has not yet been officially identified, authorities indicate that it is the driver who disappeared when his vehicle was swept away by the force of the water in Palau-sator.

The search operation remained active, inspecting the river. With the progressive decrease in flow, the roof of the vehicle finally became visible, allowing teams to access the interior and confirm the location of the body.

Earlier in the morning, the height and speed conditions of the water had forced the temporary suspension of the ground search, highlighting the severity of the storm that has severely affected the Empordà region.
