The celebration, organized by the City Council through the Department of Senior Citizens, took place at the Palau Firal de Sant Antoni. This initiative is part of a broader program that offered twenty free activities for people over sixty-five between April 28 and May 8.
The thematic week included various proposals such as memory games, healthy cooking workshops, dance and gym sessions, musical mathematics, and travel and discovery activities. The main objective of these initiatives is to foster social participation among senior citizens and to publicize the services and activities available at municipal community centers.
“"These initiatives seek to combat unwanted loneliness, promote social relationships, and encourage active and healthy aging."
The Tribute Festival began with a popular lunch offered by the City Council, followed by an afternoon dance enlivened by the Metrópolis orchestra. Participants also had the opportunity to take photos at a photocall set up at the venue, taking home a souvenir of the day.
“"Senior citizens represent a source of experience and memory that must be cared for and listened to."
The Senior Citizens' councilor emphasized the importance of recognizing the fundamental role of older people within the municipality, highlighting their contribution as a pillar of experience and knowledge.
