The first session, titled ‘4 museum pieces’ by Antoni Martí, will be screened tomorrow, September 15th, at 6 PM in the museum's audiovisual room. Attendees can view the documentaries ‘Almadrabas’ (1933-1934), ‘Dos llops de mar’ (1991-1992), ‘La pesca a l’encesa’ (2002), and ‘Contrapàs i carnaval de l’ós’ (1933). This will be followed by a debate with the filmmaker and producer Antoni Martí.
The sessions on September 22nd and 29th, also at 6 PM, will be dedicated to preserving memory and intangible heritage. They will feature a compilation from the early years of the Converses de Taverna (Tavern Conversations) project, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, showcasing highlights from recorded discussions.
These latter two sessions will be attended by Joan-Lluís Alegret, an anthropologist and former director of the Maritime Studies Chair at the University of Girona.
The Converses de Taverna are part of the Memòria Viva (Living Memory) program, aimed at recovering, documenting, and vindicating the intangible heritage of seafarers. The project was launched in 2001 by the Museum of Fishing.
The “Mar Fràgil” Documentary Film Cycle is part of the 16th International Ethnographic Film Showcase, organized by the Observatory of Ethnological and Intangible Heritage of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
