The festival pays tribute to key figures in fantastic cinema. Kevin Bacon will receive the Honorary Grand Prize and present his new film, Family Movie, a family horror-comedy. Kyra Sedgwick, also a recipient of the Honorary Grand Prize, co-directs the film.
Sir Peter Jackson, receiving the Honorary Grand Prize this year, will present a 4K restored version of his film Braindead. The festival will also re-release The Witch, coinciding with the Màquina del Temps Award for Robert Eggers, and a restored copy of Tesis, for the Méliès Career award to Alejandro Amenábar, who will present the film accompanied by actors Eduardo Noriega and Fele Martínez.
The Sitges Clàssics section will host the screening of Carrie, celebrating its 50th anniversary, alongside titles such as Firestarter by Mark L. Lester (Màquina del Temps Award), The Fury by Brian De Palma, and Scanners by David Cronenberg. Pieces like Bloody Moon by Jesús Franco and The Cursed Ship by Amando de Ossorio will also be revived, in posthumous tribute to actor Jack Taylor and actress Bárbara Rey (Nosferatu Award).
In episodic format, the new series of Carrie, based on the novel by Stephen King and produced by Mike Flanagan (2024 Màquina del Temps Award), will be screened with stars Summer H. Howell and Samantha Sloyan in attendance. An early look at The Terror: Devil in Silver, the new season of AMC's anthology series directed by Karyn Kusama and starring Dan Stevens and Judith Light, will also be shown.
New Spanish productions include 5 minutos más by Javier Ruiz Caldera, starring Belén Cuesta, Javier Cámara, and Berto Romero, and Apocalipsis Z: Nuevo mundo by Carles Torrens. The miniseries Malnombre and the Japanese series Face Thief by Yuta Shimotsu will also be presented.
The Sitges Documenta section will focus on the history of genre cinema with documentaries such as Dernsie: The Incredible Life of Bruce Dern, The 60 Year Mission: How Star Trek Changed Television And The World, A Modern Art Masterpiece: The Making of Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket, and Boorman and the Devil.
The festival will also host the II Josefina Molina Award for Fantastic Feature Film Screenplay by Female Authorship, with a prize of 10,000 euros, and the SGAE Nova Autoria Awards, recognizing emerging talent from Catalan film schools.
