The Minister of Territory, Sílvia Paneque, confirmed on March 18 an investment program exceeding 50 million euros to upgrade the road network in the Baix Ter region over the coming years.

Responding to criticism from the Prou Excuses citizens' platform, Paneque reaffirmed the Government's commitment to local infrastructure. The platform had previously labeled the 2026 budget plans as insufficient, noting they only covered specific sections between Colomers, Verges, and Torroella de Montgrí.
The Minister explained that major works will be put out to tender in 2026, including the widening of the GI-633 and GI-634 roads. Other planned interventions include improvements to the GI-643 between Parlavà and Serra de Daró, as well as upgrades to the C-31 and C-252 highways.
The long-term plan also features a new connecting road between Torroella de Montgrí and l'Estartit. Paneque emphasized that these projects aim to enhance road safety and connectivity across the Baix Empordà district.
