Residents of the Prat Xirlo area in Calella de Palafrugell have expressed concern over a series of uncivil behaviors that have occurred repeatedly in recent times. The most recent incident took place early on Monday, September 7th, when a pyrotechnic device landed within a neighbor's property.
The flare bounced off some trees before hitting a tiled area of a house's porch. Although the material damage is repairable and no serious harm occurred, the event underscored the existing fire risk, particularly in the current dry conditions.
In statements to Ràdio Palafrugell, another resident mentioned that a second flare was thrown towards a nearby wooded area, increasing the danger of the fire spreading to adjacent forests, which currently have dry vegetation.
The affected homeowner, who has recordings from the house's alarm system and reports from a gardener who assessed the damage, is considering whether to file a formal complaint or handle the claim through their insurance company.
Residents state that these incidents are not isolated and that various similar situations have occurred on the street during the summer, often shared and reported through neighborhood groups. They are calling for greater civility, especially given the fire risk alerts, and warn that such actions, even if seemingly minor, could have very serious consequences.
