The bus station in La Bisbal d'Empordà has returned to full operation after the Department of Territory, Housing, and Ecological Transition concluded works to repair damage caused by recent wind episodes. The canopy, which was particularly affected, underwent emergency intervention, allowing the infrastructure's functionality to be restored.
Key tasks included the removal of the false ceiling and damaged structural elements that posed a risk of detachment. Additionally, refurbishment work was carried out to ensure user safety and re-establish the station's normal functioning. A temporary stop had been set up during the construction period to minimize inconvenience.
The Department indicated that the approximate budget for this emergency intervention was 60,000 euros. Bus services remained operational throughout thanks to a nearby alternative stop.
Following the completion of this initial phase, the Generalitat plans to launch a second stage of works focused on installing a new false ceiling. This future project aims to finalize the station's renovation and enhance the overall conditions for public transport users.
The reopening of this facility is crucial for mobility in Baix Empordà, facilitating public transport connections between La Bisbal and other municipalities in the county and the wider Girona region.
