The arrival of the sea breeze in the Les Gavarres wildfire area, which has already scorched over 2,400 hectares, has put firefighting teams on high alert for a difficult afternoon.

Personnel from the Bombers de la Generalitat, supported by the Military Emergencies Unit and Forest Defense Groups, are currently focusing on the right flank of the fire. The main objective is to prevent the flames from spreading into the heart of the massif and moving towards Llagostera and Girona.
Given the situation, Civil Protection has ordered the confinement of residential areas located south of the C-66 road, which remains closed between La Bisbal d'Empordà and Mont-ras. Authorities have emphasized that staying indoors is the most effective safety measure.

"It will be a very complicated afternoon depending on the sea breeze."

The fire's perimeter is described as highly irregular, complicating the maneuvers of the 440 firefighters and 10 aerial units deployed. Although the wind shift could reduce activity at the fire's head, access to the natural park remains prohibited to ensure public safety.
