The Palafrugell Local Police seized 209 toys between December 15 and 21 due to labeling irregularities after inspecting six establishments in the municipality.

The campaign, carried out during the period leading up to the Christmas holidays, combined prior informational tasks with random inspections of stores selling these products. Before the controls, agents provided establishments with clear criteria on the legal requirements products must meet before being put up for sale.
In this first phase, a total of 11,848 units were checked. The main deficiencies found were related to the lack of a label, incomplete information, absence of the identification of the product's responsible party or distributor, or safety warnings not provided in an official language.

The City Council reminds families of the importance of checking the labeling before purchasing toys, ensuring that safety instructions and warnings are clear and in an official language.

The control campaign will continue with a second phase before January 18. New inspections will be conducted in the six stores where incidents were detected to verify if the irregularities have been corrected, with the possibility of definitive removal and destruction of non-compliant units.
