The second deputy mayor of Palafrugell, Marc Piferrer, officially announced his resignation during the February municipal plenary session, citing professional reasons for leaving his post.

Piferrer held significant responsibilities within the local government, including Finance, Economy, Tourism, and Economic Promotion. He also served as acting mayor during Mayor Laura Millán's maternity leave.
The vacancy will be filled by Maximiliano Martínez Rodríguez, who was 15th on the Socialist Party list. His appointment follows the decision of Guillem Berengüí and Sílvia Arnau not to take up the seat.
The Palafrugell City Council is expected to announce a cabinet reshuffle shortly to redistribute the portfolios previously managed by Piferrer.
