The Plaça Garbina in Ullastret vibrated on Friday with a concert by Mazoni, a highlight of the Ítaca Pobles festival, drawing an engaged crowd and establishing the venue as an intimate stage.

The musician from Bisbal, Jaume Pla, known artistically as Mazoni, delivered an intense performance in Ullastret, concluding with several encores after audience demand. The concert is part of the presentation of his latest work, Banderes per daltònics, marking his return to the stage after a period of hiatus.
Throughout the evening, Mazoni blended new compositions with iconic songs from his career, crafting a repertoire that resonated with various generations of fans. The artist was accompanied by a band primarily composed of musicians from the Empordà region: Aleix Bou on drums, Emili Bosch on guitar, Natán Arbó on bass, and David Mauricio on backing vocals.
The live performance was met with consistent audience response, characterized by attentive listening and active participation, which led to the band returning to the stage for additional songs. This performance solidifies Plaça Garbina as a unique venue for the Ítaca Pobles festival, known for its small-format concerts in various towns across the Empordà.
The Ítaca Pobles festival will continue its tour with concerts by Alosa in Gualta on June 6th, followed by Anna Andreu in La Pera, and will conclude on July 5th in Calella de Palafrugell with Els Amics de les Arts. Prior to this, the Ítaca Sant Joan event will take place in L'Estartit, featuring artists such as Love of Lesbian and La M.O.D.A..
