The Naturabegur project has launched a campaign this March to visit nearly a thousand private gardens in the Baix Empordà region to tackle the spread of invasive flora.

Environmental educators will visit properties in Begur, Palafrugell, Pals, and Regencós. The goal is to help owners identify plants like the ice plant, pampas grass, and prickly pear, which often escape from private gardens into the wild.
The campaign also targets gardening professionals and maintenance companies to promote the use of native species. By removing these invasive plants, the project aims to preserve the unique biodiversity of the Muntanyes de Begur coastal range.
