Children from Carrilet, Barceló i Matas, Pi Verd, Torres Jonama, Sant Jordi, and Vedruna schools are undertaking, on different days, a 10-kilometer journey from Palafrugell to Calella de Palafrugell via the bike lane connecting the two areas. Local Police officers accompany the cyclists, clearing the way and monitoring key points of the route to ensure their safety.
Upon arrival at the beach, participants receive a breakfast of apples, bananas, and water, provided by Forpas Gastronomia. To enable all students to participate, Cicles JK has loaned 25 mountain bikes and the corresponding protective helmets.
The safe mobility activities continue on Saturday, September 19th, at Can Mario square. From 10 AM to 1 PM and 3 PM to 6 PM, a traffic circuit will be set up where children and young people can practice safe mobility concepts in a playful manner.
The week will conclude on Tuesday, September 22nd, coinciding with World Car-Free Day, with actions aimed at encouraging travel to school and around the town center on foot, by bicycle, or by scooter.
