The municipal services of Palafrugell are finalizing the technical and economic review of the 215 proposals received for the 2027 Participatory Budgets. Initiatives that pass this final analysis phase will proceed to citizen voting, scheduled from September 15 to October 15.
During the assessment, the technical and economic viability, as well as the suitability of each proposal to the process requirements, are being verified. Checks ensure that proposals fall under the City Council's purview, are executable, and adhere to budgetary limits. The total allocation for these budgets is €360,000.
Proposals are divided into two categories: investments, which include constructions, renovations, public space improvements, urban furniture, or infrastructure; and services, programs, or activities, encompassing social, cultural, or educational initiatives. The City Council will soon announce the definitive list of proposals eligible for voting.
Residents registered in Palafrugell, aged sixteen and over, can cast their vote between September 15 and October 15. Each participant will have six votes: three for investment proposals and three for activity proposals. Voting will be conducted online via the City Council's Citizen Participation portal, with municipal spaces also being equipped with computers and support staff to facilitate participation.
The 2027 Participatory Budgets process began last February, aiming to allow residents to decide how €360,000 of next year's municipal budget will be allocated. During the proposal submission period, from February 15 to March 31, 215 initiatives were registered, 102 of which were submitted by entities and 113 by individuals.
