The fire, which started at 4:23 PM, forced the closure of the northbound lane for an hour, resulting in approximately five kilometers of traffic congestion. In the southbound direction, one lane remains blocked, causing about two kilometers of slow-moving traffic.
Initially, eight fire crews were dispatched to the scene. After stabilizing the fire, seven crews and a water-bombing helicopter continued working to fully extinguish the flames.
According to the emergency services, the fire affected vegetation, orchards, and some shacks in the area.
