The Palafrugell City Council has unveiled the program for the 64th Spring Festivals, which will take place from May 23 to June 8, with the Carrousel Costa Brava as the main event.

The official presentation was held at the entrance of the meat market, where an exhibition of historical festival posters, promoted by Els Trompats, was also inaugurated. This exhibition will be open until June 8.
This year's poster is the work of Gerard Soler Coll, who drew inspiration from 1960s and 1970s poster art. The design incorporates three figures representing the history of the festivals and various cultural elements of the municipality.

"The Spring Festivals are part of Palafrugell's identity and keep alive the protest spirit with which they were born 64 years ago."

A spokesperson for the driving group of the Spring Festivals explained that this is the first full year in which they have been able to work on the entire program from the beginning. They have focused on consolidating activities introduced last year and incorporating events linked to the history and tradition of the celebrations.
The program will kick off on Saturday, May 23, with a gathering of 'pubilles' and queens at the Fundació Cuixart, and a dinner-show for the presentation of the groups at La Bòbila. In the following weeks, there will be activities such as the 'baixada de carretons', the Marxa de la Garoina, open days at the float builders' workshop, traditional dance, concerts, and fairs.
The president of the Associació de Colles de Festes de Primavera noted that the groups have been working for months on the new floats and costumes for the Carrousel Costa Brava. She highlighted the high creative level achieved in recent editions and announced the incorporation of a new children's group, linked to families and schools in the municipality.
In addition to the Carrousel, the groups will organize activities such as the presentation dinner-show and the “Be a float builder for a day” event, scheduled for May 31, featuring workshops and activities related to float construction.
The central weekend of the festivals will be on June 6 and 7, with proposals such as L’Analògica, the Fira del Vinil, La Fireta, and the Desenvelat, as well as various cultural and festive activities.
On Sunday, June 7, the 64th Carrousel Costa Brava, declared a Traditional Festive Element of National Interest, will take place. The parade will start at 5:30 PM and will go through the streets of Palafrugell with floats and groups. Ràdio Palafrugell and Televisió Costa Brava will jointly broadcast the event.
The Spring Festivals will also include complementary activities such as the Fira de Primavera, street shopping, open days at the Cork Museum, the Sant Sebastià Watchtower, the Josep Pla Foundation, and the Can Mario Museum, as well as sports tournaments and the 10th Paco Dalmau Photography Award.
