The Plaça del Suro in Palamós will be the main venue for this traditional celebration, which begins at 5:00 PM. In case of rain, the event will move to the Nau polivalent dels 50 metres, located in the same square.
This year's Gathering pays tribute to all women who compose sardanas and those who are part of the coblas (sardana orchestras). The event will feature three ensembles: the Cobla Baix Empordà, Sant Jordi, and Ciutat de Girona, who will perform a total of 26 sardanas.
The local ensemble, Cobla Baix Empordà, will open the event with about ten sardanas. Later, at 7:00 PM, the coblas Sant Jordi and Ciutat de Girona will alternate, each performing two pieces. In the final part, both coblas will jointly perform the emblematic "Mar de Palamós", by maestro Francesc Mas Ros.
During the dance, the organization will also offer attendees the traditional gift raffle and a tasting of bunyols (fritters) and garnatxa (sweet wine).
