The Palamós Hospital has launched a new food intolerance diagnostic service this February to treat patients suffering from digestive issues across the Baix Empordà region.

The medical center now performs breath tests every Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. These tests are designed to detect sensitivities to lactose, fructose, and glucose in patients with recurring abdominal symptoms.

"This new addition directly benefits patients by avoiding trips to Clínica Girona and reducing diagnostic waiting times."

Marco Alburquerque · Head of Digestology Service
In 2025, the hospital conducted 474 tests. This expansion of local healthcare services aims to provide more accessible and efficient care for the community, eliminating the need for travel to Girona.
