The Palamós City Council launched a new free parking area this Friday, February 13th, in the Sant Joan neighborhood, providing space for approximately 80 vehicles.

Located on Riera Street, the new facility occupies a 2,000-square-meter plot. The local government has leased the land to boost the town's free parking capacity, particularly in areas where pedestrian traffic is prioritized.
The site is situated near the Vila-romà school and the historic center of Sant Joan. Municipal crews have spent the last few days clearing the area, compacting the ground, and installing lighting to ensure the lot is fully operational for the Carnival weekend.
This new parking zone joins an existing facility located between Àngel Guimerà Avenue and Riera Street, which offers an additional 100 parking spaces for residents and visitors.
