The Palamós Terra de Mar maritime festival will hold its nineteenth edition on the weekend of May 23rd and 24th at the port of Palamós, dedicated to the knowledge of the sea and the coastline with a wide range of activities.

This major maritime celebration on the Costa Brava will offer educational activities, ship visits, coastal navigations, family proposals, marine gastronomy, and an artisan market. The event will place a special emphasis on the scientific, university, and research aspects related to the marine environment.
In this context, the festival will feature the participation of the Underwater Robotics Center of the University of Girona, which will present its projects and showcase some of the autonomous underwater vehicles it develops, along with the support vessel Sextant II.
Also present at the port will be the hydrographic vessel Tofiño, from the Spanish Navy, specialized in marine research and cartography. This 60-meter-long vessel updates nautical charts and studies the seabed using reflectivity techniques and sample collection.
Throughout the weekend, the public will have the opportunity to visit various participating vessels. In addition to the Tofiño and the Sextant II, there will be the Maritime Rescue vessel Salvamar Sirius, the Mossos d'Esquadra Maritime Unit Cap de Creus, the Rural Agents' vessel Mar Brava, and the patrol boats Río Guadalquivir and Río Riaza, from the Guardia Civil.
The fleet of visitable vessels will be completed with the port of Palamós tugboat Olga Q, the trawlers Estrella del Sur III and Nou Gisbert, specialized in shrimp fishing, and the Barques del Peix Gacela and Estrella Polar, two wooden boats that are part of the floating exhibition of the Fishing Museum.
The festival will also offer maritime tours along the Palamós coastline with three different boats, lasting 45 minutes. These itineraries will allow visitors to discover areas such as the port and bay of Palamós, Cala Margarida, La Fosca beach, Sant Esteve castle, S'Alguer, and the Castell-Cap Roig natural area. One of the vessels will be the schooner Äran, a sailboat built in the North Sea in 1903, with a capacity for about 50 people.
Among the scheduled activities, there will be an introduction to light sailing, kayaking, and paddle surfing, children's games and workshops, demonstrations related to Catalan 'llagut' rowing regattas, and a gastronomic classroom at the Espai del Peix, where local chefs will prepare recipes with fresh fish from the Palamós fish market. The program will also include guided visits to the Fishing Museum, where the temporary pictorial exhibition Pell can be seen, as well as an artisan market at the port, live music, and dance performances.
To access the activities, a festival wristband must be purchased, priced at 6 euros, which will grant access to all activities, navigations, and ship visits for both days. Children under 2 years old can enter for free, always accompanied by an adult with a wristband. The wristband can be purchased at the port's information points or through the Fishing Museum's ticket sales website.
