Eleven professionals from hotels, tourist apartments, tourism offices, and leisure companies have acquired basic Catalan Sign Language skills over 120 hours of training. The course took place at the Escoles Velles in Castell d’Aro between October 2025 and May 2026.
This initiative is part of the region's Tourism Accessibility Plan, which has been working since 2017 to make Baix Empordà a more accessible and inclusive destination. The Councillor for Tourism of Castell d’Aro, Platja d’Aro i S’Agaró highlighted that the training reinforces the "tourism for everyone" model.

Meanwhile, the second vice-president and Tourism Councillor of the Consell Comarcal del Baix Empordà stated that accessible tourism is "a strategic regional commitment." According to him, such initiatives improve the quality of care and consolidate Baix Empordà as an open destination.
