The event, jointly organized by SOS Costa Brava and the Club Natació Palamós, took place from Cala del Castell to Cala Senià. The aim was to raise awareness about the safety issues faced by swimmers in open waters.
Jordi Cruz, spokesperson for the environmental group, called for clearer regulations to ensure a safety distance between recreational boats and swimmers, similar to existing rules for divers.

Ester Yesares, founder of CN Palamós, warned about the frequent presence of "reckless boats" and emphasized the vulnerability of swimmers at sea.
