The Citizen Participation Council of Torroella de Montgrí has completed the renewal of its members, aiming to maintain and enhance dialogue among users, healthcare professionals, and the basic health area's management.

This body, established in late 2023 by the Torroella de Montgrí City Council, has operated for two years, holding five working sessions before the recent handover meeting. The council's new composition, largely renewed, seeks to continue the task of identifying needs, gathering experiences, and proposing concrete improvements in the municipality's healthcare services.
During its initial period, the council addressed crucial topics such as visit circuits and appointment systems, the quality of consultation care, community health, and specific care for women. Emphasis was also placed on improving pediatric spaces and analyzing the patient journey to identify weaknesses in treatment and service. Another highlighted area was communication between the health center and citizens, with proposals to make it clearer, more accessible, and useful.

The objective remains: to detect needs, experiences, and propose improvements in healthcare.

As a result of this collaborative work, several actions have been implemented, including the creation of a WhatsApp dissemination channel, the installation of an informational totem at the entrance of the CAP (Primary Care Center), and internal sessions with professionals to optimize communication and address identified needs. Furthermore, the content of the corporate Instagram has been revamped, adopting simpler language adapted to the population.
The Torroella de Montgrí council is part of a broader network of participatory health spaces in the region. Currently, active councils also exist in La Bisbal d'Empordà, established in May 2025 and renewed in September, and in Palafrugell, which began its activities in the same year.
