Figueres athlete crowned Girona U18 decathlon champion

The young sportsman from Associació Atlètica Figueres also secured the minimum qualifying mark for the Spanish Championship in the competition held in Palafrugell.

A young athlete from Figueres has claimed the Girona U18 combined events title, in addition to achieving the minimum qualifying mark for the Spanish Championship in his category.

The sportsman, a member of the Associació Atlètica Figueres, excelled in the decathlon with a total of 6095 points, setting a new personal best. The competition took place in Palafrugell, where he delivered an exceptional performance.
The victory was the result of a close contest with another competitor, whom he surpassed by a mere 36 points. A third participant finished significantly behind, with 918 fewer points.
Throughout the ten decathlon events, the young athlete maintained a top-three position in nine of them. He secured victories in several disciplines, including shot put, 400 meters, 110-meter hurdles, and discus throw, showcasing his versatility and mastery in athletics.
