The 32nd Jazz Costa Brava Festival features a special event in partnership with the Jazz Club La Guitarra, an emblematic jazz venue on the Costa Brava. The evening will unite music, memory, and different generations of Catalan jazz.
The performance will be by Joan Rubau and Lluís Figueras & The Blues Hummingbirds, accompanied by Oriol Fontanals on double bass and Homero Tolosa on drums. This more intimate proposal will allow audiences to enjoy the artists' musical personalities from a new perspective.
The Jazz Club La Guitarra, founded in 1962 in Calella de Palafrugell, is a vital space in the consolidation of the Catalan jazz scene, boasting a consistently high-quality program.
This edition pays tribute to Ricard Gili, founder of La Locomotora Negra, who was closely linked to the club's early days. Gili will also appear as a guest artist with the Energia Big Band, composed of students from the Palafrugell Music School, on Saturday, October 10th, at plaça Nova.
This collaboration symbolizes a bridge between the past and future of jazz, connecting the historic scene with a new generation of musicians.
The concert by Joan Rubau and Lluís Figueras & The Blues Hummingbirds will take place on Friday, October 2nd, at 8 PM, at the Jazz Club La Guitarra. Admission is free, and the venue will offer bar service.
