This action is part of Palamós' tourism promotion plan for 2026, which considers the French market a priority. The strategy focuses on attracting local visitors seeking sustainable and quality getaways, leveraging the strong connection between southern France and the Costa Brava.
During the event, held this past weekend, Palamós showcased its main attractions, highlighting its coastline, nautical activities, and active tourism. Local gastronomy also played a significant role, with the Palamós prawn as an emblematic product.
The Occ’ygène fair gathered nearly three hundred exhibitors and about fifteen thousand visitors, mostly families and individuals interested in active and outdoor tourism. Palamós' participation, within the Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board stand, allowed for direct contact with the public and industry professionals, strengthening the municipality's presence in one of the main international tourism source markets.
This initiative is part of a broader calendar of fair participations throughout 2026, including events in cities such as Madrid, Dublin, and Pamplona, as well as future engagements in Bilbao, Miami, and Las Palmas.
