The session aimed to explain the functioning of the citizen science project Gas Radón, an initiative driven by the Hospital Clínic with the collaboration of the Barcelona Provincial Council and the town councils of Corbera de Llobregat, El Masnou, and Sant Pere de Ribes. The project seeks to understand radon gas levels in participating homes and raise awareness about exposure to this gas.
Attendees also had the opportunity to collect one of the measurement devices made available to the public. The full content of the talk can be viewed on the Town Hall's YouTube channel.
Participation in the project remains open until October 5. Interested individuals wishing to obtain a device must complete an online survey. Upon completion, a code will be provided to present at the OAC to collect the device. This participation will yield information on radon levels in homes and contribute to expanding knowledge about the gas's presence in the municipality.
