This action, part of the extension of the Baix Llobregat highway between the C-32 and the A-2, has put into service 1.95 kilometers of the main trunk of the B-25, connecting the A-2 with the C-31C. The complete project has a total length of 2.9 kilometers and a budget of 65.8 million euros.
In addition to the main section, a second access lane from the A-2 to the B-25 towards Sant Boi has been opened to traffic, as well as the new branches of the Sant Boi – Cornellà interchange and its lower roundabout. These improvements seek to reduce travel times and optimize access to the urban core of Sant Boi.
“"Satisfaction with the commissioning of the new highway, a road axis long demanded by our city that already directs the passage of thousands of vehicles outside our urban environment and will undoubtedly contribute to improving the fluidity of road traffic in the accesses and exits of the population."
Despite the opening, the installation of lighting and the completion of some construction details are still pending. Complementary actions requested by the city council must also be carried out to better integrate the infrastructure with the urban core and the city's facade.
The extension works of the Baix Llobregat highway include interventions at various points in Cornellà, Sant Boi, and El Prat de Llobregat. These include the duplication of the access ramp from the A-2 to the B-25 southbound at the Cornellà interchange, and the Sant Boi North junction on the BV-2002 road. The project also includes the Sant Boi-Cornellà interchange, which will connect the C-32, the C-245, the BV-2002, and Sant Boi's urban road network with the B-25, and the Sant Boi South interchange on the C-32 with the Les Salines industrial estate.
