The Cerdanyola del Vallès City Council managed nearly 50 emergency interventions this Thursday, February 12th, following a severe windstorm that caused significant damage to trees and urban infrastructure.

Strong gusts led to over twenty fallen trees and branches, including a large pine tree in Cordelles Park. Four streetlights and various urban furniture items were also damaged. A dedicated helpline has been established by the Town Hall to coordinate reports until Sunday morning.
Simultaneously, 13 new cases of African Swine Fever (ASF) have been confirmed. The discovery of two infected wild boars in Molins de Rei has triggered an expansion of the high-risk zone, now including El Papiol, with new restrictions on access to natural areas starting this Friday.
In other news, the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB) has approved the initial phase of the Metropolitan Urban Master Plan (PDUM). This strategic document will replace the 1976 regulations, guiding the development of 36 municipalities until 2050.
