Between 2023 and 2027, 485 homes are expected to be delivered, 360 of which will be protected. Notable are the additions of 254 protected rental units and 106 protected purchase units, strengthening the offer for citizens facing difficulties accessing the housing market. This strategy is complemented by the promotion of the social and protected rental stock, which currently totals 709 homes, mostly publicly owned and managed.
Concurrently, Cornellà is developing the first phase of the Sant Ildefons Extensive Rehabilitation Plan, which will transform 1,100 homes through energy efficiency, accessibility, conservation, and habitability improvement measures, financed with Next Generation funds.
In the long term, key urban transformation areas anticipate the construction of up to 5,000 new homes over the next decade, with over 65% under some form of protection, aiming to continue expanding housing access opportunities.
The public housing policy has been part of Cornellà's urban identity since the 1990s, with the construction of 1,094 homes (770 protected) between 1993 and 2010. The current strategy continues this model, combining new home development, affordable rental, and building rehabilitation.
