The 2026-2027 academic year began in Cornellà de Llobregat this Tuesday, September 8th, with a total of 12,304 students enrolled in various educational stages.

In the city, students in early childhood education, primary, compulsory secondary education, vocational training, and baccalaureate are starting classes. Of these, 6,410 students are in early childhood and primary education, 3,472 are in compulsory secondary education, 691 are in baccalaureate, and 1,731 are enrolled in vocational training courses.
Additionally, this includes children from the eight municipal nursery schools, which have 641 places, the 70 students at EMEE Virolai, and students from EMM Roser Cabanas and other specialized or continuing education centers in the city.
Among the new developments for this academic year, notable additions include an extra group for 1st and 2nd year of ESO at the Maria Aurèlia Capmany institute, a new group for 1st year of ESO at the Neus Català center, and a new group for 4th year of ESO at the Miquel Martí i Pol institute. EMEE Virolai also adds five more places, bringing its total to 70.
