Jonathan Andic has left the Martorell courts after paying the one million euro bail set by the magistrate investigating the death of his father, Isak Andic, founder of Mango. He remains under investigation for alleged homicide.
The judicial ruling points to a possible financial motive and a "premeditated" action by Jonathan Andic, who allegedly feared his father would change his will to allocate part of his fortune to a social foundation. The magistrate notes an "obsession with money" and a strained relationship between father and son, claims the family has publicly denied.
Evidence gathered by the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) rules out a simple slip. The forensic report suggests a fall "similar to someone sliding down a slide," feet first and without defensive hand injuries. Furthermore, the "suspicious loss" of Jonathan Andic's mobile phone months after his father's death has been highlighted.
The defense for Jonathan Andic, led by Cristóbal Martell, has described the homicide hypothesis as "inconsistent" and "painful," asserting his client's "absolute innocence." They maintain that Jonathan's prior visit to the Montserrat area was for safety reasons to check the trail's condition.
The investigation, reopened in March after being archived in January, is analyzing discrepancies between Jonathan Andic's account and mobile phone geolocation data. Isak Andic's death occurred in December 2024 during a mountain excursion in Collbató.
