The well-known sports brand Decathlon plans to open two new locations in the city of Barcelona in the coming weeks as part of a territorial expansion strategy. Additionally, the opening of another store in Cornellà de Llobregat (Baix Llobregat) has already been announced.
The first opening will take place this August at the Splau shopping center in Cornellà de Llobregat, near the RCD Espanyol football stadium. Subsequently, a store will be inaugurated on Consell de Cent street, in Barcelona's Eixample district. For September, the third opening is expected in the Sants-Montjuïc district.
With these three new commercial spaces, which will total over 1,800 square meters, the company will increase its network in the Barcelona province to around twenty establishments. According to a statement, the firm aims to consolidate itself as a "benchmark within Catalonia's sports ecosystem" and reinforce its commitment to local job creation, hiring approximately forty new employees.
José Manuel García, the multinational's director for the Barcelona province, highlighted that these new points of sale will follow the Decathlon City model, designed to better adapt to the urban environment. García noted that this format seeks to offer a "closer, more agile, and personalized" experience to customers, with a product offering "adapted to the needs of each client with an excellent value and price proposition".
The company reaffirms its commitment to well-being in Catalonia and local job generation with these new openings.
