Students at La Mercè School in Martorell have launched Un viatge compartit, an intergenerational initiative connecting 23 second-grade pupils with the life stories and memories of their grandparents.

Under the guidance of teacher Núria Pujol, the children prepared questionnaires to interview 12 grandparents about their youth and school days. The project aims to foster empathy and respect while improving the students' communication and active listening skills.

"The children showed great interest in knowing how their grandparents lived."

The recorded interviews will be broadcast on the school's radio station in late April. The program also featured a temporary museum of vintage objects and will conclude with a community visit to the Esplai de La Vila senior center.
