The 9th Josep Palet International Singing Competition in Martorell has closed its registration period with a record-breaking 129 applicants from 35 countries.

Organized by Joventuts Musicals de Martorell and the City Council, the contest has grown by 9% compared to last year. International interest is high, with 67% of singers coming from abroad, including nations such as Germany, Argentina, Australia, and Japan.
The participants, aged between 18 and 35, include sopranos, tenors, and baritones who submitted video performances for the preliminary round. The jury features experts from prestigious institutions like the Gran Teatre del Liceu and Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofia.

"This shows that the competition is becoming increasingly consolidated at an international level."
