The resolution from the Generalitat, which will be applied in Esplugues between 7 AM and 5 PM, includes the suspension of classes, outdoor sports activities, basic social services, and non-urgent healthcare activities. Teleworking and avoiding non-essential travel are also recommended.
Protecció Civil (Civil Protection) has sent mobile alerts (ES-Alert) to affected areas to inform citizens about the situation and restrictions.
The Esplugues City Council will keep municipal facilities open without scheduled activities, will cancel street markets, and will close public parks. The municipal podiatry service and other non-essential social activities are also suspended.
To coordinate actions, the mayor has convened the Municipal Emergency Committee, which met yesterday, Tuesday, at 6 PM.
The City Council urges citizens to exercise extreme caution, minimize mobility, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay away from streams and flood-prone areas, following the instructions of emergency services.
The Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya (Meteorological Service of Catalonia) forecasts rainfall exceeding 40 liters per square meter in 30 minutes, with thunderstorms, strong wind gusts, and possible severe weather phenomena.
The Generalitat's resolution also applies to the regions of Alt Penedès, Baix Penedès, Garraf, and Vallès Occidental.
