The presentation event, held last Wednesday, September 9th, revealed the main details for the upcoming Festival. Participants included the mayor, Xavi Paz; the Councilor for Culture, Ainoa García; the poster artist, Miquel Pahissa; and the opening speaker, Míriam Cano. This presentation marks the start of pre-festival activities, with the official call to celebrate beginning in nine days.
This year, the council decided to commission the poster directly from Miquel Pahissa, a local resident with strong ties to the municipality's associative and cultural fabric. Councilor for Culture, Ainoa García, explained that this decision aims to promote local talent and described Pahissa as "a native of Molins and an active collaborator with various entities," highlighting his involvement with the history, traditions, and art of Molins de Rei.
Miquel Pahissa, a photographer, graphic designer, and local cultural promoter, is known for his passion for Romanesque art and his participation in several exhibitions. His artwork for the poster is pastel-based and features the wheel of Molins de Rei, one of the town's most representative symbols. The composition includes historical references such as Sant Miquel, the 12 Royal Mills, and elements of the town's agricultural and festive traditions.
Mayor Xavi Paz thanked Pahissa for accepting the commission, emphasizing the City Council's commitment to valuing local art and talent, and noted that the new poster format reflects a perspective intrinsically linked to the municipality.
Regarding the institutional opening speech, it will be delivered by Míriam Cano on Tuesday, September 22nd. Cano expressed her excitement and sense of responsibility for this role, highlighting the importance of the Festival for the residents of Molins de Rei. She emphasized her connection to the town and described the Festival as "a time for reunions, conversations, dancing, and toasting".
The official call to the Sant Miquel Festival 2026 will take place on Friday, September 18th, and Míriam Cano's opening speech is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22nd.
