The eve's program, on Thursday, September 10th, will begin in the afternoon with sardanas and continue into the early morning with habaneras and live music. At 7:00 PM, the Arbreda de Cal Mané will host a sardana performance by Cobla Vila d’Olesa.
At 9:00 PM, the traditional Torchlight Procession will take place, starting from Parc de l’Estatut and winding through various streets of the town to Arbreda de Cal Mané, with the participation of popular culture entities. This event is co-organized by CAL d’Olesa, Òmnium Pla de Montserrat, and Assemblea d’Olesa.
The night will continue at 10:00 PM with a habaneras performance by the group Boira, also at Arbreda de Cal Mané. During the intermission, the institutional manifesto will be read, followed by a speech from the mayor, Marc Serradó, and the traditional burnt rum.
The Councilor for Culture, Emma Duran, highlights that “the celebration fosters citizen participation with moments of fellowship and seeks to maintain the family and festive spirit of the commemoration”. The eve will conclude with live music from Concerts Joves, featuring the group Akoblats at the Municipal Park's Arbreda from 12:00 AM to 1:30 AM.
On September 11th, National Day, events will begin at 12:00 PM in Plaça Nova with the Floral Offering in front of the Memorial 158. The event will include the participation of entities such as ANC, Òmnium Pla de Montserrat, Assemblea d’Olesa, and Olesa Ateneu, who will pay tribute to Olesa's historical memory, with a musical interlude by Laura Franch.
The Councilor for Culture emphasizes the involvement of local associations and invites citizens to participate in these festive days, which are scheduled to be compatible with attending the demonstrations planned for La Diada.
The program will be completed with the 38th edition of the Games Fair, organized by La Xarxa and the Department of Culture. Starting at 5:00 PM in the Municipal Park, it will offer children's activities and entertainment designed for the whole family.
