The utility company Aigües de Barcelona and social services from 16 municipalities have strengthened their partnership to protect vulnerable families, with 68,000 households now benefiting from social tariffs.

During the fifth Social Services Dialogue Forum held this Thursday, March 12, officials reported an increase in social tariff beneficiaries from 64,600 at the end of 2024 to over 68,000 today. The initiative aims to guarantee water access across the Barcelona Metropolitan Area.

"Ecological transformation cannot be carried out without social cohesion. Municipal Social Services are on the front line of care."
