Commuters in Baix Llobregat and L'Hospitalet are facing a mobility crisis as Rodalies train reliability hits an all-time low with only half of the trains arriving on time.

The rail network in the Baix Llobregat region is struggling with systemic failures. The R4 line has recorded over 24,000 minutes of delays in just six months, equivalent to 400 hours of lost time for passengers in towns like Cornellà, Sant Feliu, and Martorell.
Public frustration peaked following a fatal accident in Gelida on January 20th, which caused significant disruptions including the closure of the AP-7 highway. Although fares are currently free as a form of compensation, users argue that the lack of maintenance makes the service unreliable for the 400,000 people who depend on it daily.
While the Generalitat and the Ministry of Transport debate over management models and future investments, residents in Gavà, Viladecans, and El Prat continue to deal with average delays of 20 minutes per journey, highlighting a deep-seated regional infrastructure problem.
